Gendai Bible: A Cliff Note Version of God’s Word

The Gendai Bible presents the holiness of Scripture as poetry using the ancient Japanese form of haiku. Each three-line poem reflects a chapter of the Bible in the seventeen-syllable phrase that is the tradition of haiku poetry. The Japanese word ‘gendai’ is applied here to indicate that the haiku contained herein is in the more contemporary style of haiku poetry.
